Downtown Pomona is about half a mile southwest, putting the Arts Colony, the Fox Theater, and the Pomona Downtown Metrolink station within a short walk of each other. Western University of Health Sciences is closer still, roughly four tenths of a mile south.

Fairplex, where the LA County Fair runs, is about two miles northwest. Cal Poly Pomona sits roughly four and a half miles west, off the 57 and the 10.

Past the city line, this is the closest Catalyst for Montclair, Claremont, La Verne, Ontario, Chino, and Diamond Bar.

Cannabis Flower

Pomona's flower wall leans on strain names. Blue Zushimi, Black Mamba, Skywalker OG, and Cherry Zlushie all rotate through, with Claybourne and Sluggers among the cultivators.

It's sold by weight, so a gram, an eighth, or an ounce are all options.

Pre-Rolls

Pre-rolls come two ways on the Holt Avenue shelf. A standard pre-roll is ground flower rolled and packed for you; an infused one has concentrate worked in, which makes it typically more potent.

Vapes and Cartridges

A vape cartridge holds cannabis oil that a battery heats into vapor. Pomona stocks cartridges, which need a compatible battery, and All-in-Ones, which arrive charged with the battery inside.

Distillate is highly refined and usually THC-forward. Live resin starts with fresh-frozen flower, so more of the plant's original terpenes survive. Cured resin starts with dried and cured flower instead.

Concentrates

Concentrates are sold by the gram and used with a rig or a dab pen rather than smoked like flower.

Wax, shatter, budder, and crumble all describe consistency rather than grade. Tell a budtender what you've got at home before you pick one.

Edibles

The first number to check on a Pomona edible isn't the price, it's the dose. A 100mg pack split into ten pieces gives you 10mg a piece, which is California's cap on a single adult-use serving.

Gummies make up most of the shelf, with chocolates, mints, and baked goods alongside them. Effects can take up to two hours.

Topicals and tinctures are the two categories that don't work like anything else in the Pomona store.

Topicals stay on the skin as balms, lotions, and patches, and most won't intoxicate you, though it varies by product.

Buying Cannabis Legally in California

Medical cannabis became legal in California in 1996. Recreational legalization arrived with Proposition 64, and licensed sales followed in 2018.

What that looks like at Holt Avenue:

A valid government-issued photo ID showing 21 or over covers recreational purchases. Medicinal patients from age 18 need a physician's recommendation, with a county-issued MMIC accepted as an alternative rather than required.
The daily maximum is 1 ounce of flower (28.5 grams), plus 8 grams of concentrate. Medicinal patients can purchase up to 8 ounces, or above that where the recommendation permits.
Recreational purchases don't depend on residency, and visitors buy under the same limits as locals. Medicinal purchases require a recommendation from a California-licensed physician.
Consumption is restricted to private property. Streets, sidewalks, and parks are all out, and cannabis cannot legally cross state lines.
