Cannabis Flower

Blue Zushimi, Black Mamba, Cereal Milk, and Rainbow Kush all appear on the 2nd Street wall. Flower sells by weight, from house eighths through to indoor jars.

A pre-roll is flower already ground and rolled. Belmont Shore has singles and multi-packs, plus empty cones if you'd rather do it yourself.

Infused versions carry concentrate inside the flower and are typically more potent than standard ones. Cat 4's gram is $5, or $4 on the house-brand hookup, tax in.

Vapes and Cartridges

Size is the first thing to check, because a half-gram cart holds half the oil of a full gram. Compare price per gram rather than the sticker price.

Cartridges need a compatible battery. All-in-Ones arrive with one built in and charged.

Concentrates

Concentrate names cover two different things. Badder, sugar, and shatter describe consistency; rosin describes how the extract was made, without chemical solvents, and it comes in various textures of its own.

All of it needs a rig or a dab pen. Potency is printed on every package.

Edibles

Edibles are sold by total THC per pack and milligrams per piece, and the second number is the one to read. A 100mg pack cut into ten pieces is ten servings.

California allows up to 10mg per serving and 100mg per package, and effects can take as long as two hours.

Two categories you don't inhale. Topicals, meaning balms, lotions, and patches, work on the skin, and many are non-intoxicating, but formulations vary, so check the label.

Tinctures are liquid, taken under the tongue or in a drink, and measured with the dropper.

Buying Cannabis Legally in California

Two dates frame all of this. California legalized medical cannabis in 1996, and Proposition 64 opened the recreational market, with sales beginning in 2018.

Here's how it works on 2nd Street:

• Bring a valid government-issued photo ID proving 21 or over for recreational purchases. Medicinal patients from 18 need a physician's recommendation, and a county-issued MMIC is an accepted alternative rather than a requirement.

• Daily limits run to one ounce of flower, 28.5 grams, and 8 grams of concentrate. A medicinal patient can buy up to 8 ounces, and more if the recommendation allows it.

• Recreational buyers don't need to be California residents, and the limits are the same either way. Medicinal buyers need a recommendation from a physician licensed in the state.

• Consumption stays on private property. Not the street, not the sidewalk, not the beach or a park, and nothing leaves California.
