Watts Towers Arts Center near Figueroa St Los Angeles

About a ten minute drive from Catalyst Figueroa St. is the Watts Towers Arts Center at 1727 E 107th St. The art center features giant steel towers, mosaic work, sculptures and other must-see works of art. I hate to break it to whoever finds themself reading this but as a stoner, you owe it to yourself to start admiring artwork at every turn.

We’ve all done the same things in our early days of getting high. We watched old reruns of Scooby Doo, gone down the Youtube rabbit hole of conspiracy theories and super weird animations (look up Goat ii if you haven’t yet been traumatized by it) and we’ve all spent many a holiday trying to convince our family members that Rubber was actually a cinematic masterpiece. But the most cultured among us have discovered that in fact, there is a whole world of cerebellum-tickling masterpieces that can delight and amuse the THC-addled mind much as Scooby Doo once did.

The Watts towers is one of those masterpieces and it’s right around the corner from your friendly neighborhood dope dealers. What, praytell, are you waiting for? Go get some culture in your life, give yourself something better to talk about at Thanksgiving than a tire that blows people up with its mind.
