Valley Relics Museum – Van Nuys

Aptly named, this little museum is full of southern California history. The Valley Relics Museum is only six minutes away from our Catalyst Van Nuys Cannabis Dispensary location at 7900 Balboa Blvd. There are so many bits of history and memorabilia on display here, it’s well worth the visit. It’s also donation only so you decide what your admission fee is.

This place is like a little corner of your brain where you tucked away all the sights and sounds of yesteryear come to life in a brilliant, neon-colored flash of existential dread. You’ll find all manner of bits and bobs here and you’ll learn a little something about California history in the process. There’s a giant sculpture of Alvin and the Chipmunks that will haunt you in a way you never thought possible.

I don’t mean that to sound unpleasant, you just never expect to see chipmunks that large and I was dipping pretty heavily into the tincture by that point in the day so it fried my brain a little bit. Or maybe it was all the neon. Anyway, there’s plenty to do and see here so make a point to stop by whenever you’re in Van Nuys. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.
