This little restaurant is right along the ocean and serves all kinds of fresh seafood, including local halibut. The shrimp is excellent and the restaurant is right next to a big memorial display for Alaska Flight 261. The last time I patronized this establishment I was ripping the pen like it owed me money. I ordered the finest plate of shrimp available and had a walk outside while I waited. I saw the memorial for Alaska Flight 261 and googled it, for I knew not what had happened. It was a plane crash into the Pacific Ocean in the year 2000 just north of Anacapa Island.
All 88 souls on board perished which filled me with great sorrow. I went back into the restaurant, deeply contemplative only to have my spirits immediately elated by the shrimp I received. I savored every last slurp, let me assure you. Overall the experience was beautiful. I am a better man for the knowledge of that tragic plane crash and for the knowledge that the seafood at Surfside is some of the best in the land. Of course, I stopped by the Catalyst Oxnard Dispensary near me afterward for a new pen and repeated this course of action the very next day because if I have a weakness, it’s good seafood but that’s between us. Don’t let my enemies know. I’ve said too much already.
