The Mystery Spot – Watsonville

Everyone in California should go here at least once. It’s a beautiful forest walk full of optical illusions and strange phenomena that the area is famous for. It’ll blow the mind of even the most skeptical person. The Mystery Spot is less than a half hour north of Catalyst Watsonville at 465 Mystery Spot Rd.

The first time I went here I was convinced that actual otherworldly forces were at play. It’s all just a very cleverly designed trick of the eyes using architecture but built in such a way that you’ll swear the laws of physics abandoned this place long ago. You’ll see a pool ball roll uphill, you’ll stand at what appears to be completely impossible angles and you’ll do it all under giant redwood trees that hover over you like giants. It’s spooky, it’s fun, it’s like an episode of Scooby Doo you’ll never want to leave and you get to buy one of those big ass yellow bumper stickers to let everybody from here to Bakersfield know that you spent time in the land where time stands still.
